Gem County Engineer

Gem County, Idaho

With our Meridian offices at capacity, Keller made a strategic plan to design and build a new office building in downtown Meridian, ID. As a longtime partner to the City, Keller’s building was a chance to further strengthen our ties to the community, reaffirm our commitment to the City’s revitalization of a historically industrialized area, and deliver a unique structure that exemplified the practice of—and passion for—quality engineering.

The 19,000-square-foot office and mixed-use building can best be described as an engineer’s showroom—showcasing Keller’s design strengths in each type of service we offer, including structural, electrical, site design, and more. The building was designed with people in mind—to provide attractive and appealing workspaces for employees that incorporate natural light, high ceilings, and collaborative work areas. Ultimately, Keller wanted modern workspaces that employees enjoyed being in, while also using it as a recruiting tool to attract new employees, all of which has been achieved. The building has brought attention and renewed excitement to downtown Meridian and serves as a beacon for future development. This project took first place in the 2022 Idaho Business Review’s Top Projects Awards for Best Private Building, and second place in the 2023 ACEC Idaho Engineering Excellence Awards for Structural Systems.
