Hiline Road
This project consisted of 3,100 feet of Hiline Road improvements within the City of Chubbuck. The design work included widening Hiline Road from two-lanes to five-lanes with adjoining city streets, construction of retaining walls, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm water, right-of-way, erosion control measures, illumination, a traffic signal, and a roundabout. The project is adjacent to the Bistline Historical property that required careful avoidance measures to protect the historical orchard.
The new multi-lane roundabout was constructed at the intersection with Mountain Park Lane, serving a growing residential and commercial area.
This project was funded through LHTAC and the design was companioned with the Idaho Transportation Department’s Project No. IM-86-0(022)62, Chubbuck IC to Pocatello Creek IC, Hiline Phase. This companioning allowed the projects to be built with one contractor, coming in under estimated construction costs.
The project was awarded to Knife River Construction Company with a construction cost of $3.3 million.
