Job Summary:
Experienced CAD designer/technician needed to work closely with engineers to prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects. Candidates must have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design of municipal and public works projects, as well as private development
- Draft and assemble construction drawings with a focus on water, sewer, storm drainage, roads, and grading
- Draft topographic maps from points following standard protocols
- Prepare documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Conform to appropriate Company CAD standards
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with other software is a plus (Revit, GIS, or MicroStation)
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Simple decision-making skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers to solve complex problems
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in computer aided drafting or closely related field
- Two-plus years in the civil engineering field or five-plus years of experience with civil engineering design
