CAD Designer

Job Summary:

Experienced CAD designer/technician needed to work closely with engineers to prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects. Candidates must have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.


  • Design of municipal and public works projects, as well as private development
  • Draft and assemble construction drawings with a focus on water, sewer, storm drainage, roads, and grading
  • Draft topographic maps from points following standard protocols
  • Prepare documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Conform to appropriate Company CAD standards

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with other software is a plus (Revit, GIS, or MicroStation)
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Simple decision-making skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers to solve complex problems

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in computer aided drafting or closely related field
  • Two-plus years in the civil engineering field or five-plus years of experience with civil engineering design
